An expert on the Loch Ness and the alleged monster that calls it home has spoken out, and his remarks are probably quite disappointing to most.
According to Steve Feltham, who has been searching for Nessie for over 24 years, the infamous beast is nothing more than ‘a very large catfish’.
The 52-year-old gave up his home, job and girlfriend to move closer to Loch Ness in Scotland in order to continue his pursuit of the elusive creature.
Speaking to Sky News, Steve said:
Looking at all the evidence, speaking to eyewitnesses, the most likely solution is a Wels catfish.
Said fish can grow up to 13-feet long and weigh over 800lbs, making it a VERY large creature. Mr Feltham claims that sonar contact he has had with things in the loch have often seen objects the size of “an estate car”.
He continued:
We get sonar contacts with things that are far bigger than any fish that should live in this body of water. We only get one or two decent sightings a year.
And even though Steve believes that Nessie is actually just a large catfish, he hasn’t given up hope, and claims “there is still something to be explained in Loch Ness.”
