Remember The Lonely Island’s ‘I’m On A Boat’?

It’s been revived – but not how you remember it.

Appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, the three-man group recreated the 2009 smash hit with Jimmy and The Roots, this time using classroom instruments.

Using an xylophone, rubber duck, banana, a kazoo and a pair of flip flips, the group dusted off the old relic while wearing sailor outfits.

The Lonely Island is well known for parodying rap cliches with songs that sometimes sound better than the real thing. And their 2009 hit ‘Im On A Boat’ is probably one of their best.

The recreated version with Jimmy Fallon didn’t, of course, include exaggeratedly aggressive and profane lyrics, but they did a pretty good job of it nonetheless.

If you’re wondering why we’re getting this treat, The Lonely Island was on The Tonight Show to promote their new movie, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.

The film, which comes out in June, promises to hilariously parody music documentaries like Justin Bieber’s (and Justin Bieber himself).

Here’s the trailer (Caution: NSFW):
