thorbjornsson/InstagramHafþór Júlíus Björnsson – aka The Mountain – is a big guy isn’t he? In fact, calling him ‘big’ is an understatement. There’s a reason we refer to him as The Mountain outside of his famous character’s world – HBO‘s Game of Thrones.
Now before you get any ‘impure thoughts’ running around that dirty mind of yours, we’re of course referring to his gigantic stature.
At an impressive six feet and nine inches, The Mountain does live up to his name as a giant among men, towering over us mere mortals.
However, you can’t help but think the strong man’s physique and height may be a hindrance at times, outside his famed notoriety.

One aspect which has the general public pondering is Björnsson’s love life, particularly in regards to his girlfriend Kelsey Henson, who’s only five foot, two inches tall.
It’s a modest height but when compared to her partner, you’d be forgiven if you thought he could actually fit her into his pocket.
Their relationship has raised many questions, one of which is how do the two go in for kisses? Now it’s clearly a personal question – which is information Björnsson and Henson are under no obligation to divulge – but being the nosey parkers we are, we can’t help ourselves.
Thankfully one brave soul plucked up the courage to ask Henson how the two kiss and she was more than happy to answer.
The Instagram user who couldn’t contain their curiosity any longer asked Kelsey:
How do you kiss? Do you jump in his arms every time and wrap your legs around his waist? Please post a picture of this impressive action.
Kelsey replied:
ahha he bends, I tip toe. Or just say screw it, pick me up
There was me thinking she had to buy some custom made high-heels from Christian Louboutin – but I guess her explanation makes much more sense. If you fall under the ‘aww isn’t that so sweet?’ variety, you’ll probably find it super cute.
Despite their dramatic height difference, the couple seem genuinely delighted in each other’s company; posing for pics during their travels to Spain and Iceland where Hafþór is originally from.
The couple have been dating since September after they met in Earls Kitchen + Bar in Alberta.
Kelsey had been working as a waitress at the bar and Hafþór happened to swing by while in town competing in a strongman competition.
Of course, we all know Hafþór as the Mountain from Game of Thrones, but he’s also mighty in his own right, having been Iceland’s Strongest Man seven times, and Europe’s Strongest Man three times.
Kelsey decided to ask the giant for a cheeky picture and the pair hit it off.
Earlier this year, Hafþór revealed he was suffering from facial paralysis.
In a brave Instagram post, he wrote:
To all my dear strongman fans, I have a small announcement. Last Sunday I got very sick. On Tuesday morning I woke up and the right side of my face felt kind of numb. It got worse over the course of the day and then it got completely paralysed.
My friends insisted sending me to the ER to get things checked out as they were seriously worried I was having a stroke. I spent a good amount of time at the hospital as doctors ran some tests on me. Luckily I was informed there was nothing to worry about. That I have caught some virus called Bells Palsy which causes half of my face getting paralysed.
It can last from a week to a few months apparently. So please keep that in mind if you come to Europe’s Strongest Man tomorrow and get pictures with me that I’m not in a bad mood I just can’t really smile for pictures haha!
Other than that I feel good and look forward to battling it out with the guys for the Title of Europe’s Strongest Man 2017 and putting on a great show for all you guys! Bring it on!
