A brand spanking new trailer for Marvel’s Sci-fi/superhero mash-up Guardian’s of the Galaxy premiered last night and to quote Buzzfeed it’s everything.
Guardians Vol. 2 (as we’ve said many times over now) is the highly anticipated sequel to 2014’s Guardians Vol 1 and features your favourite band of galactic misfits including Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) Drax (Dave Bautista) Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and of course Baby Groot (Vin Diesel).
Of course you can’t do a superhero sequel these days without going bigger and director James Gunn appears to have taken everything that made the first film a hit and turned it up to eleven.
From insane sword swinging action, blistering gun fire, toe-tapping music and dysfunctional family banter Guardians Vol. 2 looks like it’s going to be a magnificent mad addition to the Marvel canon.
Most notable in this particular teaser as well is the reveal of Peter Quill’s father, Kurt Russell’s Ego who’s a lot smaller than his comic incarnation.
Let’s just hope Rocket and Baby Groot don’t get everyone blown up first…
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 lands in UK cinemas on April 28, 2017 and is out in the U.S. on May 5, 2017.
