If for some reason you weren’t excited for Halo 5: Guardians, then the newly released opening cinematic movie is definitely gonna get you hyped.

Posted on the official Xbox YouTube account, the explosive cinematic shows exactly what happens when Spartan Locke and Fireteam Osiris are let loose to fuck shit up against Covenant and Promethean forces. The video is made using juicy in-game rendering and it’s thought the game kicks-in directly after this cinematic.

Playing as Spartan Locke in the campaign mode, players will get the chance to issue commands to three other Spartans, or have friends jump in to completely ruin each mission for you by being useless. Unfortunately, a split-screen campaign will not feature in the game, with devs 343 Industries saying it is “to deliver a true next-gen experience.”

Thankfully, the Halo 5 multiplayer is shaping up to be absolutely huge with 343 Industries announcing 20 maps on release, and a further 15 being rolled out for free before June 2016. Fans of the Halo series have already had a sneak peak at some multiplayer details after the soundtrack and menu screens were leaked online.

Halo 5: Guardians is set for release on 27 October exclusively on Xbox One.
