‘Finally… The Rock is getting his own Hollywood STAR!!!’
Sorry the wrestling fanboy in me couldn’t pass up the opportunity to throw a little Attitude Era reference into this article.
But unwanted references aside, it’s true Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – who will most likely become the next President Of The United States of America (you heard it here first people) – will finally receive a star on Hollywood’s Walk Of Fame.
The Hollywood megastar, who was voted last year’s ‘sexiest man on the planet’ by People, will be receiving his long-awaited accolade on December 13. However, considering how long Johnson has been working in Tinseltown we’re surprised he hasn’t been honoured sooner.
Sure his movies aren’t exactly Oscar-winning masterpieces but they do rake in huge numbers in terms of audiences and box office based on his sheer star power alone. And despite his intimidating size Dwayne Johnson is one of the nicest guys on the planet. Hell, he’s even been dubbed ‘The Beyonce For Boys‘.
Obviously The People’s Champion welcomed this long-awaited honour in the most humble way possible:
Speaking to Variety Walk Of Fame ceremonies producer Ana Martinez said:
Not only does Dwayne have a great personality and talent, but he also does a great amount of philanthropic work which is part of the criteria for earning an immortal spot on the Walk of Fame.
We envision scores of photos being taken at his star by his fans.

What makes Dwayne Johnson’s recognition by the Walk of Fame committee much more deserved is the journey he took to get where he is today.
After giving up ambitions to be a pro-American football player he followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather into the wrestling business, joining Vince McMahon’s WWE, becoming the first third-generation superstar in the industry. After riding to the top of the company as ‘the most electrifying man in sports and entertainment’ he took a risk and went into acting.
Unlike his wrestling predecessors to make this jump – hello Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant and Triple H – Rocky’s transition into Hollywood was near-seamless and his success has paved the way for the likes of Dave Bautista and John Cena.
