It really feels like it’s been a long time coming, but it now looks like Louis Theroux’s My Scientology Movie is getting an official release.
And what is more – we’ve now even got a trailer to give us a little taste of what we can expect from the long-awaited film, reports Entertainment.ie.
My Scientology Movie is Louis’ first ever foray into feature film and it has been created in collaboration with director John Dower and two-time Academy Award winning producer Simon Chinn.
It follows Louis as he delves into the mysteries surrounding the notoriously litigious – and definitely not a cult – Church of Scientology.
As, arguably, one of the most anticipated documentaries of this year, it really does look like being incredibly interesting – especially when you consider the level of effort that went in to getting it made.

Speaking to NME Louis said:
I’d seen an explanation of why people wanted to leave Scientology, but I hadn’t got a sense of why they joined.
I was interested in the seduction, why they would go along with the various practices that had been alleged for years, if not decades.
[The film is] an attempt to create that mindset of being conditioned in behaviours outside of the norm.
It looks brilliant.
