Rejoice boils and ghouls, because the Crypt Keeper has woken from his grave once again to give us the first teaser for the brand new series of Tales From The Crypt.
For those of you who’ve never had the good fortune to see the show, Tales From The Crypt was basically an adult version of Goosebumps narrated by a ghoulish animatronic zombie known as the Crypt Keeper.
The show was very popular, ran for seven seasons from 1989 to 1996, had two movie spin-offs and even its own animated series. Unfortunately the show died after plans for a third movie fell though leaving fans devastated.
The first teaser…
Thankfully, as all horror fans know, you can’t keep a zombie down for long and the Crypt Keeper is back, with a little help from ‘Master of Horror’ M Night Shyamalan who’s best known for The Sixth Sense and Signs.
Unfortunately the first creepy teaser doesn’t give us a glimpse of the Crypt Keeper, aside from his iconic laugh, but we do get to see some creepy zombie action.
We also know that the Keeper will be returning for the 2017 series with Shyamalan describing him as the show’s ‘dark Walt Disney’.
Here’s M Night Shyamalan talking about the project…
Tales was originally based on a series of EC comics of the same name and a number of huge stars appeared on the show during it’s original run including Adam Ant, Malcolm McDowell, Patricia Arquette, Dan Aykroyd and even Alfred Hitchcock (sort of).
We don’t know exactly when the new Tales From The Crypt will air but you can guarantee when we know you’ll know.
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
