After the MTV VMA nominations were officially announced last night, things very quickly got heated between a number of high profile music artists on Twitter.

It all started when Nicki Minaj complained about her relative lack of overall nominations and that her video for ‘Anaconda’ wasn’t nominated for Best Choreography and Video of the Year.

However, her general point that women with certain types of bodies tend to win these awards didn’t go down too well with Taylor Swift, who took the comments personally.

And Nicki Minaj was pretty annoyed with Swift calling her out, judging by her “favourites”.

So much shade!

And thus began a series of hilarious misunderstandings, as Kim Kardashian accidentally waded into the argument, appearing to reference her husband Kanye West’s infamous VMA stage interruption of Taylor Swift in 2009.

Next, Bruno Mars wanted in on the action and he seemed to find the whole situation pretty funny.

It’s actually WWE now though, mate. WWF are all about the pandas.

Still, we’d love to see this go down in a pro-wrestling ring, to be honest:

Luckily, Ed Sheeran has a good line in promo skills and threw some smack talk in Mars’ direction.

Oh it is on!
