We recently covered the story of Sam and Nia, the couple who went super-viral for their ‘alternative’ pregnancy announcement in which Sam turned the tables on his wife Nia and surprised her with the news.
However, in the weeks following the video, both Sam and Nia were bombarded with hate, with the general consensus being that the whole thing had been dramatically staged.
Now, two weeks, one miscarriage, 13 videos, millions of views and hundreds of thousands of subscribers later, the pair have finally addressed the claims that they had made the whole thing up – by admitting that it was indeed staged. By God.
In the video, Sam and Nia are “done with the haters” and defend themselves from being “persecuted.”
First is a brief message from Nia and their two children, including a narrative by a family friend who states that there is an ‘anti-family and anti-children movement’ in their country – but that’s not before the perfectly edited sitcom-like intro scene accompanied by some beautifully uplifting music.
Then comes Sam’s address of those who are supping that ‘hatorade’, in a tirade about his nice Christian family being dragged through the mud. Then, eventually, a confession regarding it all being staged:
Or, like, one interviewer asked me, “Was it all staged?” A lot of people think it was staged. I’m, like, you know what? It was staged. It was all orchestrated by God above and nothing less. I’ll say stuff like that just to kind of throw them off, but it doesn’t make me happy that people are deceived, but it does make me happy that God chose our family out of the world.
So there it is. It was all staged by God himself.
