Let’s face it, the roll call for Celebrity Big Brother is usually more confusing than exciting and you can very well find yourself going down a Wikipedia rabbit hole trying to figure out who’s who.
Look, I’m not saying you are going to see Beyoncé slagging off Kanye West in the diary room any time soon, but you might actually recognise some of the names in the upcoming 2017 series.
Sarah Harding, of Girls Aloud and Danny Dyer romancing fame, will be there, as will former Most Haunted ghostbuster Derek Acorah. Fans of EastEnders or Extras will be pleased to see Barry back on the box, or to give him his full name, Shaun Williamson.
Joining them will be Ab Fab actress Helen Lederer, and hilarious Sandi Bogle from Gogglebox (but no Sandra!). Ex on the Beach viewers will no doubt welcome the return of outspoken troublemaker Jemma Lucy, who is sure to stir things up in the house.
This summer’s Big Brother suffered abysmal ratings, with many reality fans switching over to the more explosive Love Island. Will this new, recognisable mix of celebs help to spice things up?
The new series of Celebrity Big Brother will kick off 1 August on Channel 5.
