The third trailer for The Lonely Island’s newest film, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, dropped this week and it looks every bit as over the top and ridiculous as we hoped.
This particular teaser tones down the swearing of the last two trailers but manages to up the vulgarity by giving us a look at the omni-shambles that is Coner4real’s (Andy Samberg) personal life.
It seems that poor Coner4real, after rising to mega-stardom on the back of his first album, will face a crisis of confidence when Rolling Stone give his latest album a ‘poop emoji’ rather than a star rating.
This forces the desperate rock star to re-evaluate his stage persona and indeed his life when he decides that he’s going to have to get his old boy-band back together.
The film’s been penned by The Lonely Island crew Jorma Taccone, Samberg and Akiva Schaffer who’s also taking on directing duties.
Of course we can also expect the usual cavalcade of cameos including Sarah Silverman, Bill Hader,Will Arnett, Will Forte and Tim Meadows.
There are also a few big music name’s popping up including Snoop Dogg, Joanna Newsom and Pink.
Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping will rock into cinemas on August 28.
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
