Front NationalOne poll has shown that support for the far right is, unfortunately, on the rise in France after Paris attacks. Marion Maréchal-Le Pen, the granddaughter of the Front National founder, Jean-Marie Le Pen, and niece of its current leader, appears to be the front-runner to win local elections.
With only two weeks to go until the public vote, a poll for France Televisions and Radio France shows that Ms Maréchal-Le Pen is pulling ahead of Republican and Socialist candidates for the presidency of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.
IndependentFrance TV Info has reported that she has growing support with her support rating haven risen by three points to 40 per-cent since the Paris attacks, well ahead of her closest rival.

Despite a lot of support for Ms Maréchal-Le Pen, almost half of voters surveyed, thankfully, believed that a Front National victory would be the worst possible outcome.
The party’s anti-immigration and socially conservative policies have gained a lot of support since the attacks but the party has continued to divide voters over accusations of xenophobia and racism.
Ms Maréchal-Le Pen claims to have suspended her election campaign but has appeared on television several times in recent days critising immigration.
Ms Maréchal-Le Pen tweeted recently:
Immigration has become a breeding ground enabling the development of Islamism
In a speech the day after the attacks, she said “France and the French are no longer safe,” and demanded a crackdown on Islamists in the country.
