This ‘Drug Driving Suit’ Simulates What It’s Like To Drive High

If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to drive while high as a kite, but don’t want to face the strong arm of the law, Ford have put together the ‘Drug Driving Suit’ for your curiosity and safety.

The car maker made the suit to show people exactly how their bodies react – or don’t react – while under the influence of drugs like weed, cocaine, heroin and MDMA.

Partnering up with scientists from the Meyer-Hentschel Institute in Germany, the suit gives wearers tunnel vision, plays random sounds through headphones, creates hand tremors and adds weight randomly to throw you off balance.

A 2013 National Survey on Drug Use and Health discovered that 9.9million people admit to having driven while under the influence of drugs, while the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that around 18% of all road traffic accidents involve drugs.

While the suit is obviously designed to simulate what it’s like to be on a hell of a lot of drugs, it’s still an important safety reminder – one that Ford plan to implement in their ‘Ford Driving Skills for Life’ program.
