Strength in numbers was proven by these honeybees which completely ransacked a spider who attempted to enter a hive.
In retrospect I reckon this spider would have given the hive a miss, because the savage swarm of bees gathered around it and cooked it to death with friction.

I think spiders and bees are two of the scariest common insects, so it’s actually pretty interesting to see them take each other on.
The video definitely makes your skin crawl as a huge number of bees defend their queen, piling onto the arachnid so that you can barely make it out.
The bees also pierce it with their stingers, which is claimed by one Reddit user to be a ‘mass suicide’ attack by the insects as they try to overwhelm the spider with their venom.
Another theory is that the hive grouped together to use their combined body heat to effectively ‘cook’ the invader.
Don’t fuck with bees, basically.
