I don’t know how it’s taken the internet so long to put this together, but it turns out Grand Theft Auto and NWA go together like Ice Cube and jack moves.
YouTuber AnimalRobot pieced this little nugget together using GTA V’s Rockstar Editor, and has Franklin (who else) causing all kinds of mayhem around Los Santos.
The video isn’t an exact remake, more a reimagining of the source material, with Franklin tearing around town on a superbike, and in a lowrider with an incredible disregard for the laws of physics. The original video and this VR version do look like they belong together though, as Los Santos makes for a perfect stand-in for the notorious city of Compton.
The only real shame is that AnimalRobot couldn’t shoehorn the Grove Street crew into the video, with Ryder being modelled on the late, great Eazy-E. Check out the video alongside the original below.
