This guy took dedication to a whole new level.
Twitter user Marcus LePage waited seven years to deliver a joke, and the internet is going crazy for it.
In April 2009, LePage tweeted that he was going to sleep:
Going to sleep
— Marcus (@MarcusLepage) April 27, 2009
Then, with all good jokes, there was a bit of a wait between the delivery and the punchline.
And then there was a bit more waiting. And a bit more.
And seven years later, he tweeted this:
Fuck, I slept in
— Marcus (@MarcusLepage) April 12, 2016
Both tweets have been retweeted 33,000 times, and Twitter can’t handle it.
This man actually waited 7 years to tweet this ?? https://t.co/MPejXFZeH5

Some people just tried to fill him in on what he missed:
You missed a lot. Kobe retiring. Bruce Jenner is a woman now. MJ died. @backwood_man went through puberty. @MarcusLepage
— #MambaDay (@BoycottWNBA) April 12, 2016
@MarcusLepage you missed all the Yeezy drops fam
— Throne (@theplugatc) April 13, 2016
And then he tweeted again:
Long day! Going back to sleep
— Marcus (@MarcusLepage) April 13, 2016
His patience is on point. See you in 2023, Marcus.
