Sometimes, a hero emerges and does something the world thought impossible. In this instance, Twitch streamer Happy Hobbit was that hero, and completing Dark Souls without getting hit a single time was his triumph.
If you didn’t know (you probably do, but just in case), Dark Souls is actually a very difficult game – so this is kind of a big deal.
Many are already calling him out for using a combination of dark magic and witchcraft, but the reality is much more mundane. Trial and error was how Happy Hobbit managed this feat. You can find weeks’ worth of attempts on his Twitch page.
Of course, it didn’t matter if he got five minutes or five hours into a playthrough: If he got hit, the attempt was shit.
The successful run clocked in at around 4 hours, 57 minutes, and 42 seconds. I can only imagine that at this point in time, Happy Hobbit is just doing his best to not think about all the hours he wasted up to that point.
Unfortunately, Happy Hobbit hasn’t uploaded his run to YouTube yet, so here’s a video of a Dark Souls Speed Run to tide you over.
Still, it’s an undeniably huge achievement. One can only imagine what’s next for Mr Hobbit. Dark Souls 2 without getting hit?
