The price alone is enough to bring a tear to your eye, but that fact that this yacht worth more than £4 million ($6.2m) just sank off the coast of the Greek island of Mykonos will be devastating news to Russian billionaires and supermodels everywhere.
Local reports said four foreigners were on board the American-owned 106ft superyacht Aloha when it ran aground on a reef at dawn yesterday. Nobody was injured but the boat itself was a goner.
Port officials have now launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred as yacht owners converged on the island to enjoy the sun and the beautiful island’s wild nightlife.
Mykonos has become a destination for billionaires and celebrities, with Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, actress Lindsay Lohan, Formula One heiress Tamara Ecclestone, and singer Nicole Scherzinger all spotted on the Greek island recently.
