Late last night, news emerged that Making a Murderer’s Brendan Dassey could walk free from jail in 90 days after a judge overturned his murder conviction.
The judge decided to release Brendan just eight months after the Netflix documentary about the alleged murder of Teresa Halbach shocked the world – leading Dassey’s uncle, Steven Avery, to say he felt ‘happy’.
In 2006 and aged just 16 at the time, Brendan was charged with the mutilation of Halbach’s corpse, as well as sexual assault and homicide however after Making a Murderer revealed some truly disturbing videos many people believe Brendan is innocent and was forced to admit something he didn’t do.
Sadly, chances are we’ll never truly know what really happened to Theresa Halbach.
Brendan’s cousin, Carla Chase, who features in the docu-series as somewhat of a middle-man between Brendan and series viewers, shares regular pictures of Dassey and it’s only fair to say that he looks very different than he did back in 2006.
Oh, and Steven Avery looks pretty different too.
Following on from Dassey’s release could it be only a matter of time before Avery is also released? Only time will tell.
