Colombian news station Noticias RCN got hold of the distressing footage, with the explosion being blamed on rebels, with the mines being detonated by Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) after the helicopter had initially made a safe landing.

Four of the soldiers who were on board were killed by the blast on June 22nd, with six others also being wounded.

The explosion took place in Columbia’s northern Norte de Santander province, with local rebels being blamed for the incident, with it being made all the more tragic by the fact that the helicopter had landed safely and soldiers were even leaving the plane before the mines were detonated.
