WikimediaBelieve it or not, it’s now been thirteen long and empty years since cult-classic Buffy graced our TV screens.
That’s right, flat screens, HD and even iPhones were all twinkles in their respective fathers’ eyes when we last caught up with the ‘Scooby Gang’.
That said, Joss Whedon’s awesome fantasy drama actually manages to hold its own – even after all these years – and some of its stars and creators have gone on to have successful post Sunnydale careers, reports Digital Spy.
But what exactly have Buffy, Xander, Willow etc been up to since we left them?
Nicholas has had pretty regular TV work since 2003. His biggest role has probably been Kevin Lynch in Criminal Minds.
Sadly, a struggle with alcoholism means Nicholas has been a regular in rehab and he has been arrested numerous times for trashing hotel rooms and even for attacking a woman in 2015.
Of course the end of Buffy didn’t spell the end of Cordelia – Charisma continued her role as a demon-hunter in spinoff Angel.
It may have lead to her being a little typecast as just after Angel finished she landed a role in Charmed as a demon.
Charisma has never really been short of work – she had a recurring role in Veronica Mars, and appeared in Supernatural, Sons of Anarchy and Scream Queens and the first two Expendables movies.
Dodgy attempt at a British accent aside, James must’ve done something right in his portrayal of Spike as since then he has gone on to play several other sci-fi roles.
Alien super villain Brainiac in Smallville, the omnisexual time traveller Captain John Hart in Torchwood, and terrorist Barnabas Greeley in Syfy’s Caprica all add up to a pretty impressive CV.
What hasn’t Seth Green done since Buffy? He is the creator, executive producer and voice actor on hugely successful (and genius) Adult Swim show Robot Chicken, where he is also a writer and director.
He played Dr Evil’s son Scott in Mike Myers’ smash hit Austin Powers movies and the voices of Chris Griffin on Family Guy and Jeff Moreau in the Mass Effect video game series.
On the other hand it’s probably best to forget his role in the literal and metaphorical car crash that was The Italian Job remake.
After setting many a teenage heart a flutter as Buffy’s vampire lover, David got given his own spinoff – Angel – which ran for five seasons from 1999 to 2004.
In 2005 he landed the co-lead role of Seeley Booth in massively popular crime drama Bones, which begins its 12th – and final season – early next year.
Alongside Seth Green, probably the most successful of the group, Alyson has gone on to play numerous parts on both stage and film.
Her most notable roles are surely as Lily Aldrin on the hugely successful and long running show How I Met Your Mother and, of course, as the quietly provocative Michelle Flaherty in the American Pie franchise.
Let’s admit it – Sarah will probably be best remembered for her role as the kickass vampire slayer, but she’s also put in some other impressive performances.
Unfortunately she hasn’t really been able to recapture TV success, with neither 2011’s Ringer or 2013’s The Crazy Ones – featuring the sadly deceased Robin Williams – really capturing the public imagination.
She’s had more success on the big screen, starring in I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, The Grudge and 1999 classic Cruel Intentions – which as a teenage boy was just the best…
