The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a damn fine looking game, but a new video shows it off in an even more glorious resolution than ever before.
The video from Thirty IR (via Kotaku), shows the RPG at 7680 x 4320 (60fps/8k) on max settings, which is frankly, a bit ridiculous. Let’s get straight to it:
Features like Nvidia Hairworks, HBAO+, and ‘other settings’ have been turned on, while Thirty IR suggests that to really get the most out of the video, you should Chrome or Edge browsers.
Select 4320p60 on the video’s settings to see in full-HD, but you’ll obviously need an 8K display to really appreciate the insane visual display – and I can’t imagine many of us have an 8K monitor lying around. Frankly, I wasn’t even really aware it was a thing before today.
The video was captured using a two-rig setup: The ‘uber-rig’, and the ‘Asus RoG Swift (G-Sync) Rig’ – the respective specs of each can be seen below:
Uber Rig
- GPUs: 4x GTX TITAN Xp (2017) 4 WAY SLI @ 2038Mhz / 13358Mhz
- MoBo: Asus Rampage V Extreme (X99)
- CPU: i7 6950X @ 4.30GHz
- RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 3200Mhz (64GB)
Asus RoG Swift (G-Sync) Rig
- GPUs: 4x GTX 1080 Ti 4 WAY SLI @ 2025Mhz / 12110Mhz
- MoBo: ASRock Extreme11 (X79)
- CPU: i7 3970X @ 4.80GHz
- RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR3 2133Mhz (32GB)
This really is the Ark of the Covenant of video game visuals – if you ever need to melt a Nazis face off, just show ’em this.
