A Ku Klux Klan member planned to build a ‘death ray’ to kill Barack Obama, along with thousands of Muslims.

A recording was played at the trial of Glendon Scott Crawford that shows him trying to get support for the device, which he claimed could kill Muslims.

Crawford visited a wizard of the KKK in North Carolina, trying to get backing to make the device.

The defendant was arrested back in 2013, along with another man, Eric Freight, and charged with planning to commit radiation attacks at a mosque in Albany, and a Muslim school in nearby Colonie.

His lawyer claimed that he would have been unable to build the device without the help of undercover agents, who ‘dragged him into the plot’.

A court statement stated that Crawford claimed:

If you’re the imperial wizard, you’re probably in touch with lots of other imperial wizards. Get them together for a chit-chat. See the potential here? We could stomp the (expletive) new world order out of (expletive) existence.

Freight pleaded guilty to providing material support to terrorists for building a remote control for the machine. He is due to be sentenced in September, and could face 15 years in jail.

Crawford meanwhile has pleaded not guilty to three charges, including conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction.
