TwitterA Leave voter has admitted that he didn’t think his ballot would matter and is now apparently shocked the UK will leave the European Union.
Absolutely shocking.
In a segment during the BBC’s national coverage of the referendum, reporters introduced Adam as a Leave voter and asked for his reaction.

Leave voter on BBC: "I'm shocked & worried. I voted Leave but didn't think my vote would count – I never thought it would actually happen."

How it’s possible for someone to say such senseless things and look so earnest while doing so is beyond me.
He said:
I’m a bit shocked to be honest.
I’m shocked that we voted for Leave, I didn’t think that was going to happen.
I didn’t think my vote was going to matter too much because I thought we were just going to remain.
Are you actually joking, man on @BBCNews?! 'I voted to Leave, didn't think my vote would matter'. LITERALLY UNBELIEVABLE

Leave won almost 52 per cent of the total vote after the final count.
And despite an on-the-day poll predicting a win for Remain, more Leave voters turned out in order to take the UK out of the EU. Turnout in the referendum was 71.8 per cent with more than 30 million people voting, the Huffington Post reports.
To the man on @BBCNews in Manchester who voted leave but is now "shocked" that his vote mattered and is now "worried", well done sir. Moron.

If even a fraction of Leave voters thought, like Adam, that their vote wouldn’t count and Britain would remain in the EU anyway, it proves that we’re pretty fucked.
The decision has already sent shockwaves around the world and prompted David Cameron’s resignation.
This guy is a prime example of why we shouldn’t take referendums as a joke.
