I’m pretty sure we’ve all had the occasional rush hour crush – glancing at somebody on the train and smiling awkwardly inside your head and wondering what you could potentially become – but have you ever had a faceless Twitter crush?
Nope, me neither.
But this woman found love with the man behind Waterstone’s Oxford Street’s Twitter account, and got in touch to say so.
Over three years ago, self-confessed book lover, Victoria O’Brien posted the below tweet:
Fast forward four years and Victoria is married to the man behind WStonesOxfordSt.
Quoting Jane Eyre, Victoria posted: ‘Dear reader, I married him’.
Apparently, after Ms O’Brien’s tweet, she was dared to get a date with him, and when she made a pivotal typo in one of her messages to this faceless Romeo.
Following the typo, Jonathan got in touch.
Victoria said:
It took a couple of months – Jonathan ignored my first tweet but the second had a typo and he picked up on that.
So if you love an anonymous Twitter user then all you’ve got to do is send a tweet to them saying so, and then another, and another, and another, and fingers crossed you’ll be wed in a matter of years – failing that you’ll get a harassment order, but it’s worth a try right.
Who says love is dead eh?
