Three naked women spotted applying sun cream at a rest stop in Florida reportedly proceeded to lead police officers on a 21-mile chase.

The bizarre sequence of events began when a custodian at the Pasco county rest stop contacted the Florida highway patrol on the morning of April 11. The custodian reported seeing ‘all three of them, standing in the nude, putting on suntan lotion’.

Once a trooper arrived at the scene, they too observed the three women – named as Oasis Shakira McLeod, 18, Jeniyah McLeod, 19, and Cecilia Eunique Young, 19 – standing in the nude in the parking lot.

They reportedly began to dress upon seeing the trooper, and informed them they had been ‘air drying’ after washing up. They explained they had been staying at a relative’s home but, following an altercation, had gone to the rest stop and had no other place to go.

Ignoring commands to stay where they were, all three women then proceeded to flee in a white 2009 Nissan Sentra.

As reported by the Tampa Bay Times, a pedestrian had been forced to leap out of the way of the vehicle as the women sped away from the rest stop.

The trooper began an initial pursuit, which was cancelled after reportedly not meeting Highway Patrol criteria. However, the car was then spotted driving recklessly – at one point on the wrong side of the road – leading to troopers initiating a second pursuit.

The car was tracked as it entered the parking lot of a convenience store, with the women having left the vehicle to go into the store. After the women returned to the car, the trooper attempted to take one of the women into custody.

At this point the driver was said to have purposefully driven at the trooper who was forced to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. One of the women reportedly exited the car while holding a metal bat in an effort to hit the trooper with it.

The chase eventually ended with a trooper breaking the vehicle windows after the three women had refused to get out, resisting arrest.

They had interlocked their arms together when the windows were smashed. All three women were then tasered and taken into custody at the Pasco County Jail.

The women are now facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, fleeing to elude and indecent exposure.
