It’s been a long time coming, but we finally get a glimpse of Legend – the true to life biopic of London’s most infamous criminals, Ronald and Reggie Kray.
Set in the east end of London in the 60’s, Legend follows the lives and times of the Kray twins, both played by Hollywood powerhouse Tom Hardy. From their brutal tactics to take over London, to their unflinching loyalty to one another, the film has been widely banded as a master-class from start to finish.
The film also stars Christopher Eccleston as Nipper Read – the police superintendent tasked with bringing the twins to justice – and Emily Browning as Reggie’s wife Frances. At early screenings of the film, family and friends of the Kray twins applauded Hardy for his realistic and honest interpretation of the two. Legend will be taking cinemas by storm when it drops on September 9th and personally, I can’t wait.
