SWNSA traffic warden has managed to make traffic wardens even less popular after trying to give a ticket to a first responder, who was attending to a heart attack victim.
The parking officer was spotted standing next to the emergency medic’s vehicle in Sleaford, reports the Lincolnshire Echo.
The LIVES first responder had been trying to save the life of an 82-year-old man who had suffered a heart attack.
Anthony Woods, who witnessed the incident said the warden started to put a ticket on the car and only stopped when the responder returned.
SWNSMr Woods said:
The warden needs to hang his head in shame. He shouldn’t have done that. We all know what first responders are there for.
A gentleman had suffered an angina attack while he was in the bank.
The traffic warden was booking the car. I said to him: “The person in this car is probably saving someone’s life.”
Mr Woods posted photos of the exchange to his Facebook page, and it’s fair to say that people were far from impressed with one commenter writing: “That’s disgusting.”

No shame! Even though we have responder badges on our cars and attending incidents they don’t give you any leeway especially when we have equipment to carry!! Makes me so mad!
Matt Jones, parking services manager at Lincolnshire County Council, said:
As LIVES volunteers use their own vehicles, we can’t assume that they are always out on a call – they could be out shopping.
If a LIVES vehicle were to be mistakenly ticketed, we could easily cancel it. However, in this case, our warden was aware of the situation and had no intention of issuing a ticket even before he was approached by the volunteer.
No harm done in the end I suppose…
