Trump Baby Blimp Is Back And Bigger Than Ever

Donald Trump is planning another visit to the UK, and of course his trip wouldn’t be complete without a giant baby version of himself floating around in the skies.

Luckily, protesters are on the case.

The US President is set to make a state visit to the UK in June, more than two years after an invitation was first extended by Prime Minister Theresa May.

Buckingham Palace announced the news today, explaining Trump will visit from the 3rd to the 5th.

He and the First Lady, Melania Trump, will be guests of the Queen, and will attend a ceremony in Portsmouth to mark 75 years since the D-Day landings.

The president will also have official talks with the Prime Minister, as well as a private audience with the Queen.

In response to the announcement, anti-Trump campaigners have promised the iconic baby blimp will fly once more.

The huge, six-metre-high balloon, depicting an angry-looking, orange-faced Trump dressed in a nappy, became a big talking point during the president’s last visit in July 2o18.

The London mayor, Sadiq Khan, gave permission for the Trump blimp to fly over the capital while the POTUS was in the country.

It was certainly an impressive sight, but this time around the campaigners have said the balloon could be even bigger.

Per The Guardian, Leo Murray, who helped crowdfund the original inflatable, said:

The Trump baby will definitely fly again. We have been toying with the idea of a Trump baby hot air balloon, which would be about five times the size. But would cost a huge amount of money – upwards of £70,000.

I’m sure a lot of people would be willing to pay good money to see the 72-year-old’s disgruntled face splayed across a hot air balloon.

A spokesman for the mayor has reportedly hinted that an attempt to relaunch the balloon would be approved, as it was last time – though the rules may be different when it comes to hot air balloons.

He explained:

Any application to fly it on land that the Greater London Authority manages will be judged by the same criteria as last time by GLA officials, the police and the Civil Aviation Authority.

Asad Rehman, a member of the Stop Trump Coalition, said that while the original baby blimp is likely to be back in action, they have to put more thought into the prospect of making it bigger.

He said:

We do have the baby blimp – it will fly and we’re also thinking about the option of making a bigger baby blimp. Logistics are the only consideration.

We are very confident there will be more than a quarter of a million protesters.

Trump’s visit last year mobilised a large number of people, but a year later the man has done more to rip up human rights, step back from international norms, continued his climate denialism and fuelled white nationalism.

With just a few weeks to go until the POTUS touches down in the UK, let’s hope the campaigners can figure out a way to have his hot air balloon take to the skies!
