Warning: Spoiler Alert
Thor: Ragnarok actors Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo were being interviewed on an Australian TV chat show when one of the hosts dropped an absolute clanger.
The actors were facing questions on The Project, ahead of the release of Marvel’s latest action film.
Of course, everybody is waiting to see the film with it not yet in cinemas, so when one of the hosts starts to ask about Australian actress Cate Blanchett, things get awkward.
This is your cue to stop reading if you don’t want any kind of spoiler.

Blanchett plays the character Hela, the Goddess of Death, but what some people don’t know – or didn’t before this show – is that she is Thor’s sister.
During one question, the host keeps referring to Hela as Thor’s sister.
He says:
Obviously it’s a star-studded cast, our very own – the gorgeous – Cate Blanchett plays your sister, Chris.
And for a lot of this movie, your sister – she’s trying to kill you, your brother…
He is then cut off as Hemsworth tells him: ‘You can’t give that away, don’t.’ Awkward.
Hemsworth asks:
It’s not live, is it? We can rewind it?
He did then, thankfully, go on to see the funny side by making a joke and then brushing over the whole thing.
For the latest solo outing for the character, it looks like writer-director Taika Waititi has found a sweet spot of comedy and action that few can master.
However the funniest line in the first trailer wasn’t even created by Waititi.
In fact, it wasn’t written by any member of the crew at all, it was mastered by a Make-A-Wish child who was visiting the set that day.
In the trailer, we see Thor gearing up to battle an unknown enemy for the pleasure of Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster character.
Luckily for Thor, it’s Hulk, his Avenger companion who has been AWOL since Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Thor lets out an ecstatic ‘Yes!’, before explaining to the crowd:
I know him! He’s a friend from work!
It was a line that instantly became a fan favourite, and Chris Hemsworth told Entertainment Weekly:
We had a young kid, a Make-A-Wish kid on set that day. In between the takes, I was talking with him, going back and forth.
Hemsworth continued:
…and he goes, ‘You know, you should say, ‘He’s a friend from work’.
Most of Thor: Ragnarok – an estimated 80 per cent, according to the director – was improvised, so Chris was allowed to run with this line, and behold, a classic Thor moment was born.
For those who don’t know, Thor: Ragnarok’s director Taika Waititi has created two critically acclaimed comedies, What We Do In The Shadows and Hunt For The Wilderpeople.
Hopefully this means we can expect to see a lot more comedy coming from the Asgardian crew.
Thor: Ragnarok is released on Tuesday, October 24 in the UK and November 3 in the US.
