EngadgetTwitter users everywhere are set to rejoice – well the funny ones will at least – with the news that the social media giant will now be stopping people copying the funniest tweets out there and passing them off as their own.
As Twitter has grown into a global phenomenon, nearly everyone has a twitter account, and the ‘internet reacts’ type articles always feature the best tweets out there, but that, along with the amount of retweets some of the best jokes get seems to make it ok for other, less witty users to steal the joke and pass it off as their own.
Well no longer, with Twitter now allowing people to claim a copyright infringement if this happens to them, and then blocking the plagiarised tweet.
If someone steals and tweet and it gets reported, they will get a DMCA notice and it will be taken from their timeline.

I mean come on, at the end of the day, there is always the retweet button for someone to use if they really find something funny, so there is no need to go around copying the witty tweets that are out there and then trying to pass them off as your own. That’s just bad form.
