Firstly, the new trailer: Ubisoft are asking us to “fight for the wildlands”, which mostly seems to consist of riding around in a number of cool vehicles and shooting stuff to an aggressive rap soundtrack.
Looks good, right? For the uninitiated, Wildlands is developed by Ubisoft Paris, and is described as the first military shooter set in a “massive” open-world.
You’ll be able to play entirely by yourself, or buddy up with four other players in co-op and really cause some chaos.
In terms of story, you’ll be exploring Bolivia in the near future, transformed by the vicious Santa Blanca drug cartel into a narco-state. Obviously, you get to shoot stuff and save the day.
If you’re after a more in-depth look at how the game is shaping up, you can find a nine minute gameplay demo just below.
It looks pretty damn gorgeous, and an awful lot seems to happen in just nine minutes. Everything from riding a motorbike, shooting stuff from a helicopter, storming a drug den, and shooting stuff from the ground.
I can almost guarantee that you’ll be shooting someone or riding something or combining the two activities at any given moment, but it looks like tremendous fun all the same.
Ghost Recon Wildlands will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 7, 2017.
