A woman claiming to be an ‘undercover journalist’ who taught English to North Korea’s elite in Pyongyang has opened up in a Reddit AMA.
Suki Kim, author of New York Times bestseller Without You, There Is No Us, claims to have been the only ever writer to go live undercover in North Korea.
Her experiences sound standard enough. They’re shocking, but North Korea shocking. It’s what we’ve come to expect having heard all the horror stories.
Suki writes that her reason for visiting the notorious country were based around the attraction to fear, ‘how that society is built on fear and how fear can dictate us’.
Some of these answers are astonishing.
Say what you like, it takes brass balls to go to North Korea.
More over, it takes even bigger brass balls to boast about it on a Reddit AMA.
