After The Undertaker made a shock appearance at Battleground on Sunday night to confront Brock Lesnar, the WWE brass didn’t wait long to announce that the two legends would main event Summerslam next month.
On Raw last night, authority figures Triple H and Stephanie McMahon made the decision that Taker and Lesnar would headline the major summer show on August 23 in New York City.

The announcement came after ‘The Phenom’ kicked off Monday’s TV show by explaining why he returned to get his revenge on Lesnar and stopped ‘The Beast’ winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
And it’s got less to do with Lesnar ending Taker’s famous Wrestlemania undefeated streak in 2014, than it has with the fact that Lesnar and his manager/advocate/mouthpiece/genius Paul Heyman haven’t shut up about it since.

Although why Undertaker waited a whole 15 months before doing something about it, we’re not quite sure yet.
Later in the night, Lesnar and Taker got physical and fought back-and-forth in a wild brawl, requiring security staff and basically the entire WWE locker room to separate them.
Yeah, we’re looking forward to this one. At least it’s got more chance of living up to the hype than Mayweather vs Pacquaio ever did!
