Try and act surprised, okay? After being leaked by everyone and their mum, Platinum Games have finally announced their new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with an awesome trailer.
Licensed videogames can always be a tricky sell. For every Goldeneye or Arkham game, we get a Superman 64 or an E.T farted in our general direction. Luckily, Platinum Games have excellent form in colourful, fast paced beat ’em ups, having worked on such gems as Bayonetta and The Wonderful 101.
After seeing the trailer, there’s definitely a lot to be optimistic about. TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan boasts some seriously sexy cel-shaded visuals, and more references to the beloved 90’s cartoon than you can shake a nunchuck at. Fans can expect to go head-to-head with classic bad guys like Shredder, Bebop, and the cyborg shark Armageddon (great concept for a villain).
There’s also set to be an online four player co-op mode, but no official word on any kind of local multiplayer just yet… All we know for sure at the moment is that the game will be landing on PlayStation and Xbox systems, as well as PC, sometime in Summer 2016, and that it looks glorious.
