It’s been four days since the Royal nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took place and yet here we are, still talking about it. Can you sense the enthusiasm in my writing?
Of course you can. Royal Wedding guest Victoria Beckham knows what I’m talking about. Did you spot her radiant smile during last weekend’s occasion, as she and her husband David Beckham walked up to St. George’s Chapel in Windsor?
No, you didn’t? That’s because such a thing doesn’t exist. To be fair, Victoria Beckham hardly ever smiles anyway. You’d have a better time trying to draw out blood from a stone.
Yet, Victoria appeared more displeased than usual during the Royal Wedding, which is odd considering it was such a joyful day.
You could accuse the former Spice Girl of having an intense case of ‘resting b*tch face’, which for some reason is the modern day fashion icon’s default setting. However, Mrs Beckham has finally broken her silence as to why she appeared to be in such a foul mood.
As it turns out, Victoria was about as far removed from unhappy as one could be – according to the Mirror she was actually relieved.
I mean if that’s a look of relief I’d hate to see her scowl when she’s actually p*ssed off about something.
Speaking to The Evening Standard, Victoria said:
Quite honestly, it was such a relief not to be hugely pregnant at this royal wedding, that it was a joy to be able to choose anything I wanted to wear.
Victoria was heavily pregnant with her daughter Harper when she and David attended the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton back in 2011.
At the time, she was photographed sporting a navy blue dress and Christian Louboutin heels – which I imagine is counteractive footwear for a pregnant woman.
For Harry and Meghan’s wedding, she was again, wearing a navy dress from her own personal range, to which she said:
I love a bit of navy.
The dress is one of my favourites: it isn’t in store until November, but we’ve had so many inquiries about it that I’m seeing whether I can bring it forward.
While there were questions regarding Victoria’s demeanour on the day, there were high praises for her plus one Mr Goldenballs, who took time out to shake the hand of a police officer who was standing guard at St. George’s Chapel.
The simple, but kind gesture seemed to resonate with millions of people across the country who took to Twitter to acknowledge the act:
He was also spotted going out of his way to meet and greet 12-year-old Amelia Mae Thompson, a survivor of last year’s attack at the Manchester Arena, who was outside the chapel.
However, it appears Becks wasn’t fully on his best behaviour as he was spotted on National TV chewing gum… In church! Sacrilegious!
The reaction on Twitter was pretty big:
While it does go against church conduct, I doubt the nation will be burning sarong-wearing-effigies of him this time around.
