Footage has emerged showing police shooting dead the man responsible for murdering 84 people at the Bastille Day celebrations in Nice.
The video, filmed by a member of the public, shows police officers firing into the cabin of the lorry as a man – now named as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel – sits in the driver’s seat, reports The Mirror.
The 31-year-old French-Tunisian had just gone on a two kilometre rampage through crowds on Nice’s seafront who were gathered to celebrate Bastille Day.

In the video, at least two police officers are seen walking up to the cabin with their guns drawn, firing several times.
Screams and sirens can be heard in the background before everything goes eerily quiet and officers lower their weapons.
French officials say a massive stash of weapons including hand grenades, pistols and larger guns were found inside the 25-tonne lorry that was used to carry out the horrific attack.
It has been reported that Bouhel opened fire on the crowd with a pistol but was shot dead by police – preventing him from using any other weapons to claim more victims.
Nice’s Regional President Christian Estrosi, who was in the crowd as the carnage was carried out, said:
At the moment that he was shot dead by police, he had fired several times. This is the worst Nice drama of history.
We are terrified and we want to present to all the families our sincere condolences.
Our thoughts are with the families and friends of anyone affected by the horrific attack.
