A harrowing video shows a living snake being shoved inside a bottle of wine and left to drown to make a traditional drink.
Snake wine is a popular drink throughout China, but many will be shocked and sickened to see how the delicacy is actually made.
The horrible new footage shows a middle aged couple gradually lowering the serpent from a plastic bag into a large clear bottle of rice wine somewhere in Southern China.

The snake is calm as its tail is lowered into the container but visibly becomes more distressed as it writhes and squirms in a desperate effort to escape, before the couple thrust its head inside the bottle and jam a stopper in the top.
The video ends with a shot of the snake moving its head in a hopeless bid to find some air before it stops moving and lies still. The man then taps the glass to ensure it is dead.
Making snake wine is thought to date back over two thousand years, and some believe it can treat different health problems such as back pain, rheumatism, lumbago, and even increase male virility. It won’t – this is just cruel.
