If you’re a wanted man the one place you should probably avoid is the police station.
This man didn’t seem to think so, though. John Wesley Rose was arrested after he walked into a local Sheriff’s office to apply for a job, despite the fact the police were after him.
According to the Huffington Post the 25-year-old was wanted for a variety of crimes, including the rape, sodomy and sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl.
That didn’t stop him from applying to be the new custody officer at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department in Detroit.
When an officer ran a background check it flagged up all of Rose’s outstanding warrants, at which point he was asked back for a ‘second interview’ and promptly arrested.
Communications Director Paula Bridges told reporters:
I’m not certain what went through his mind. But for some reason he went into a law enforcement agency, and if the allegations are true, you are a criminal attempting to get a job at a law enforcement agency.
I hope he has a pleasant stay in jail…
