Dramatic footage has emerged of the moment a ‘human chain’ saved a woman trapped in her car by a raging flood.
The incredible scenes were captured on film as a devastating torrent tore its way through Ellicott City in Maryland, U.S, over the weekend, reports Sky News.
As the daring group of rescuers – who have been hailed as ‘true heroes’ – formed their human chain, one of the guys actually got swept away by the force of the water, but fortunately made a swift return to carry on with the rescue attempt.
Unbelievable video shot by my husband Dave during the flood as he and several other men rescue a woman from her car…

At first the woman seemed scared to leave her car – but after someone shouts: “Drop your shit and get out the fucking car!” she takes heed of the advice.
With about four people linking their hands, one guys is able to reach the woman and lift her from the car, which was fast becoming engulfed by the terrifying deluge.
The footage was posted to Facebook by local business owner Sara Arditti, who wrote alongside it:
Unbelievable video shot by my husband Dave during the flood as he and several other men rescue a woman from her car floating down Main Street.
Dave was at the top of the human chain holding the next man’s hand and filming with the other. The man who got washed away was incredibly lucky.
However, others weren’t so fortunate. The flash flood claimed the life of one woman, whose body was recovered form the Patapsco River.
Fair play to these guys though, epic work.
