This is Steve Carell’s audition tape for his role of Brick Tamland in Anchorman, and it’s just as daft as you expect.
Auditioning for the role of simpleton weatherman Brick Tamland, Carell talks about his ‘falafel hot dogs with cinnamon and bacon on top’, and eats the imaginary concoction while red faced with borerline insane laughter.
It’s difficult to tell what is being read, and what is being adlibbed, but it’s very probably a lot more of the latter, while Will Ferrell can be heard out of shot, reading along and encouraging him in the role of Ron Burgundy.
The shade of purple that Steve Carell manages to turn is actually impressive.
