In a UNILAD Sound exclusive, Naughty Boy just dropped his blistering new music video for the dancehall track Should’ve Been Me.
The British producer and writer is back and bringing through emerging talent with his new dancehall track, featuring vocals from Kyla and Popcaan.
The track, which sees Naughty Boy return to his roots, is accompanied by a feel-good video filmed in Uganda that UNILAD is proud to premiere today.
The video – directed by Ben Strebel, produced by Katie Lambert and executive produced by Ore Okenedo – follows a heart-warming narrative centred around a group of young skaters in Uganda.
Naughty Boy – whose 2013 debut album Hotel Cabana helped propel artists like Emeli Sandé, Sam Smith and Ella Eyre to stardom – repeats the feat with Should’ve Been Me, which features the dancehall darling, Kyla.
As Naughty Boy puts it, the young singer, who featured on Drake’s One Dance is a welcome addition:
I met Kyla and fucking loved her, she’s humble and she’s got heart…
The track also features DJ and singer, Jamaican-born Popcaan, whose credentials read like the 411 on chart success. He has collaborated with the likes of AlunaGeorge, Jamie XX and Drake.
After Naughty Boy started 2016 with a bang, working with Queen Bey herself, it doesn’t look as thought he’ll be slowing down anytime soon.
