Demehl Thomas and Moysha Shepherd, both 25, have just released a new album on iTunes, and the video was promotion for it. Shepherd raps under the name Big Stygs, Thomas is known as Remtrex, and the album’s called Goonlyfe, in case you’re keen to get your mitts on some prison rap.

A source told The Sun:

This really is sticking two fingers up to the prison regime. To illegally make the video in a cell is bad enough.

But to then blatantly post it online for the world to see is just taking the mickey. It’s a disgrace that crooks like these have access to mobile phones in prison and apparently don’t give a damn who finds out.

Thomas is in prison for aggravated burglary, while Shepherd is in for being part of an armed gang that freed drug gangster John Anslow from a prison van in 2012.

The pair filmed the video on B-wing of HMP Birmingham, which is privately run by G4S.

Prison officials were tipped off about the footage and raided their cells, but they couldn’t find the mobile phones or sim cards, which are thought to be hidden somewhere in the massive Victorian prison.

Thomas is thought to have been released on license at the start of the year, and it was during this time that he recorded the album, but he was later returned to jail for breaching the terms of his release.

For the sake of not getting shot I’ll just say they’re ‘great’ and leave it at that…
