Obviously that almost definitely won’t happen but in 1977, at the age of 18, writer and artist Peter “Stoney” Emshwiller found himself with a lot of questions in mind for his future self. Instead of letting these queries pass he decided to record himself in order to actually be able to answer them down the line.
YoutubeCue ‘Later That Same Life’, an interview conducted by the 18-year-old Stoney in which he challenges his older self to answer questions about how his life has gone face to face.
On the right, we have 18-year-old Stoney Emshwiller and on the left the barely recognisable 56-year-old Emshwiller, armed with an iPhone and handing out touching advice to his younger self, telling him to spend more time with his father as well as, less touchingly, revealing that he was a virgin at the time of filming, ‘technically’ anyway.
Through the first four minutes of this project Emshwiller has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise the $15,000 he needs to complete the remainder of the film. Would have been a lot cheaper in 1977.
