A multi-talented dog is helping charities to raise money by selling her own artwork.

Ruby holds the brushes in her mouth and paints across the canvas using stencils to create Banksy-esque street art. The five-year-old crossbreed’s main duties involve helping her owner Megan Taylor – who suffers with a condition that causes her to faint up to six times a day – with day-to-day tasks.

According to the Mirror, Megan, from Tolworth, south west London, is studying animal behaviour at university and taught Ruby everything she knows using positive reinforcement.

When Megan comes round, Ruby is always there to comfort her and help her to get back on her feet. The faithful friend was even honoured with a People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) commendation for her dedication to her owner.

19-year-old Megan told the Mirror

Whenever I faint and Ruby is there, she will lay down by my side and wait for me to wake. There is nothing stopping her from running off but she chooses to stay and protect me. Knowing she is there really helps me.

Megan says that more than just being a helping hand, Ruby has taught her there is always a reason to be happy and to appreciate the smaller things in life. “I now live by the motto that a problem is only as big as you allow it to be,” she says.

According to Ruby’s Facebook page all money raised from the dog paintings goes to charity with 100 per cent of the profits from both the original canvas and a framed stencil handed over to Dog A.I.D. (Assistance In Disability).
