You may or may not be aware but Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and if you’re worrying about money, fear not, Wetherspoons have the answer.
The trusty chain has it totally covered and are offering a special Valentine’s meal for two for just £20.
Not only that, if you throw in an extra fiver, you can get a bottle of prosecco as well. Nice.
The deal includes two main courses, two desserts and two drinks – from an extensive 40-strong drinks list.
Your main course options are and 8oz sirloin steak matured for 35 days, BBQ pork ribs, a mixed grill, or a BBQ chicken melt
Vegetarians have one choice, a Mediterranean vegetable lasagne, ‘made with Italian egg pasta in a rich aubergine, red pepper, courgette and slow-roasted tomato ragù sauce, with mature Cheddar cheese, creamed spinach, mozzarella and a nut-free rocket pesto’.
Nothing for vegans though unfortunately.
For pudding, you can choose from a warm cookie dough sandwich with ice cream or a slice of chocolate fudge cake, also accompanied by ice cream.
This is why Greggs have finally answered our dreams (and some people’s nightmares) by opening their doors and taking bookings for Valentine’s Day dinner.
Candles, roses, a four-course dinner and prosecco await the lucky couples who make the unorthodox but very respectable choice of dining at Greggs this Valentine’s Day.
Here’s a taste of what you could have:

A Greggs spokesperson said:
For the first time in our history, we wanted to offer the public the opportunity to enjoy their Valentine’s Day evening in the comfort of their local Greggs.
We’re delighted to offer this experience for fans for one night only – whether they’re on a first date or have been married for 30 years, we can guarantee it will be a night to remember.
Tables are available to book exclusively through OpenTable where couples will ‘receive first class table service’ and the ‘fine dining Greggs experience’.
Dress code: Business casual. Obviously.
The tantalising description reads:
This is the ultimate Valentine’s treat for the Greggs fan in your life. The one-night-only menu will be made entirely from your favourite products but given a special Valentine’s twist.
Sausage rolls and romance can go hand in hand. Whether you’re on a first date or have been married for 30 years, we guarantee it will be a night to remember.
The hand-picked and carefully designed menu is more than enough to sway you away from the traditional fancy restaurants.
To start: a composition of canapés – seasoned pork and puff pastry slider, steak & blue cheese en croute, katsu tortilla wrap, Mexican chicken chipotle spoon, béchamel toasted honey cured ham square and tomato gazpacho.
The main course of our choice, a signature Greggs puff pastry parcel, freshly baked to order, accompanied by oven roasted spiced potato slices and a garnish of fresh Apollo and spinach leaves with sunblush tomatoes.
Dessert is a ‘brochette of miniature doughnuts paired with a rich butterscotch flavoured dipping sauce’ (don’t ask what a brochette is).
The final course, or Petit Fours and coffee if you’re a posh, consists of a Belgian dark chocolate brownie, raspberry and almond bite, with caramel shortbread, accompanied by freshly ground Fairtrade coffee made using our own unique blend of mild Arabica beans from Peru and Colombia and rich tasting Robusta beans from Tanzania.
The Greggs experience is available in Manchester, Cardiff, London, Newcastle and Glasgow.
Reservations for the unique experiences will open on February 7 and set you back a humble £15 for two.
