Usain Bolt, the six-time Olympic gold medallist, has reportedly called for gangland murderer, Vybz Kartel, to be freed from his life sentence.

The Sunday People report, the 100m champion made his appeal in support of fellow Jamaican at a busy gig in Jamaica’s capital, Kingston. It’s believed  that Bolt slammed a rival of Kartel’s saying: “A little youth that is trying to imitate the Gaza boss, I am not calling any names, three blind mice.” Before adding: “Free the Gaza boss.”

Kartel, 39, is the alleged leader of the murderous ‘Gaza gang’ and was convicted last year of killing associate Clive “Lizard” Williams.

During the trial, the court heard that a text sent from Kartel’s phone claimed the victim had been chopped into so many pieces that the body would never be found.

Bolt is reportedly a friend of Kartel and payed a DJ thousands of Jamaican dollars to play the gangster’s music at the concert.

The sprinter has also been allegedly pictured copying a trademark hand salute associated with the Jamaican gang.
