Well, that’s one way to deal with carry-on restrictions on liquids.

A Chinese woman reportedly downed a £120 bottle of Remy Martin XO Excellence cognac after she was told she couldn’t take it on her flight.

Security officials tried to take it off her, but the woman wasn’t having any of it. She necked the bottle, got incredibly pissed – as you would – started screaming and shouting, then had a bit of a roll around on the floor.

Unsurprisingly, she was deemed ‘too drunk to fly’.

Not the type of behaviour you’d usually associate with Remy Martin drinkers, but who am I to judge?

The woman was flying from Beijing to Wenzhou in China, after transferring from a flight from America, where she bought the booze, and was presumably unaware of the 100ml limit on liquids taken on as hand luggage.

The South China Morning Post reported a police officer as saying:

She was so drunk… she couldn’t even stand up herself. We took her to a room in a wheelchair so she could rest.

After her wheelchair nap she was collected by relatives to sleep it off.

To be honest, if someone tried to confiscate my £120 bottle of cognac, I’d probably do the same.
