One student who was saved by a stray dog when on holiday in Crete, Greece, returned to the country to adopt the dog and bring her home.
In an amazing story, Georgia Bradley was being harassed on a beach by a couple of men, when a dog ran over to her and stayed with her, barking at the men until they left.
The duo then struck up a bond, with the dog following her back to the apartment, where they stayed together for the rest of the holiday – until Bradley had to leave.

She claimed:
She saved me. She must have noticed something was wrong.
When I went back to the apartment she followed me and finally let us stroke her. We had an instant bond.
But at the end of the holiday, Georgia had to leave Pepper behind.
When we left to go to the airport, we looked back and Pepper was running after the car. It was heartbreaking.
When I got home I couldn’t stop thinking about her so I took the soonest flight back out that I could, which was two weeks later.
She had to go back twice more before she could locate the dog and finally take her home, but said that the 6,000 mile trips were worth it, and seeing Pepper again was the ‘best feeling ever’.
Pepper has also now given birth to six puppies, so the student has her hands full!
Amazing stuff.
